Short Leisurely Pilgrimage in Shikoku

About us

I am a retired man of over 65. I am traveling around Shikoku on foot with my wife.

Our travel is a kind of Shikoku pilgrimage, “HENRO”. We don’t walk through all the 88temples at one travel but walk for several days and visit several temples in one travel and repeat that travel until reach the final 88th temple. It is called “KUGILI-UCHI”.

I don’t want to be under strict discipline of religion. I walk only 18km a day. I just enjoy seeing beautiful scenery, chatting with other people and drinking. This simple walking makes me extremely refreshed. That’s why I am fascinated by HENRO.

You can find a lot of information about HENRO on the internet, but I have set up this web-site because of the followings;

・There is little up-to-date information,
・The majority of information is about a good walker, and
・There is little information of toilet which is important for women.

I hope my web-site will be helpful for you to make your own pilgrimage plan.I am scheduled to travel to Shikoku in spring and autumn and will add a new information each travel.

April 3, 2021 We visited the 88th Okuboji Temple and completed the Shikoku Pilgrimage.Therefore, I will no longer add travel notes.
